Castries, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister of Saint Lucia- Philip J Pierre, extended greetings and wishes to Tapon House on winning the sports meet of St Mary’s College on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

St. Mary’s College holds its annual sports meet at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. This is their march past as the games begin. The Old Boys march past scheduled for 1:00 pm.

While extending greetings, PM Philip J Pierre took to Facebook and stated that the sports meet aided in the enhancement of the sports field of Saint Lucia. He added, “Today just keeps getting better. I was informed that Tapon House, my House won the sports meet of St. Mary’s College, my alma mater.” 

PM Pierre hailed the coaches and teachers for encouraging the students to be part of the sporting activities across the country. He added that the Old boys and SJC girls had performed exceptionally well in the sporting events. 

While extending greetings, PM Philip J Pierre said, “Congratulations to the athletes for your victory and for your participation. To the teachers, parents, Old Boys, and SJC girls thank you for showing your support.” 

He also encouraged the athletes who didn’t emerge victorious and asked them to work hard for the best performance in the next events. He said, “Unfortunately for some of my colleagues, their huts were not victorious. Better luck next time, gentlemen.” 

The government of Saint Lucia, through the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, is committed to hosting various sporting events to encourage students who are interested in the sporting fields. 

Earlier, PM Philip J Pierre had the pleasure of hosting and being quizzed by the students of the Kiddies Headstart Preschool.
