Saint Lucia: The newly elected Prime Minister of St Lucia, Philip J Pierre has assigned portfolios to the Cabinet Ministers on August 5, 2021.
PM Pierre also announced that the independent candidates – Stephenson King and Richard Frederick would also be a part of his administration. Stephenson was a former senior member of the previous government who quit to contest the July 26 general elections as an independent candidate.
While, Richard Frederick was sacked from the UWP (United Workers Party). The ceremony was also attended by the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda – Gaston Browne.
PM Pierre cited, “It is a responsibility that together we can achieve. Our government would listen to the people, and we would always put them first.”
Following is the list of Ministers and the Cabinets they have been allotted: –
Ernest Hilaire, PORTFOLIO – Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information.
Moses Jn. Baptiste, PORTFOLIO – Minister for Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs.
Alva Romanus Baptiste, PORTFOLIO – Minister for External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs.
Shawn A. Edward, PORTFOLIO – Minister for Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training.
Wayne D. Girard, PORTFOLIO – Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Youth Economy.
Kenson Joel Casimir, PORTFOLIO – Minister for Youth Development and Sports.
Joachim Andre Henry, PORTFOLIO – Minister for Equity, Social Justice and People’s Empowerment.
Alfred Prospere, PORTFOLIO – Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Rural Development.
Virginia Albert, PORTFOLIO – Poyotte -Minister for the Public Service, Home Affairs, Labour and Gender Affairs.
Stephenson King, PORTFOLIO -Senior Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Ports, Transport, Physical Development and Urban Renewal.
Emma Hippolyte, PORTFOLIO -Minister for Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs.
Richard Frederick, PORTFOLIO – Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Housing and Local Government.
Dr Pauline Antoine Prospere – Parliamentary Secretary: Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training.
Guibion Ferdinand – Parliamentary Secretary: Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information.
PM Pierre would be handling the portfolio of Minister of Finance, Economic Development and the Youth Economy, besides taking responsibility as a Prime Minister.
The prime minister added he is confident that his new administration would work hard for the people and stated that SLP would stay true to its promises.
