India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Diplomatic Advisor to the President of France- Emmanuel Bonne, on Thursday, January 5, 2023. The meeting featured a discussion of a range of issues from Defence and security to culture.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and shared an update on the meeting and dropped an image of him sitting with the Diplomatic Advisor Boone. He also invited the President of France- Emmanuel Macron, to visit India.
PM Narendra Modi asserted that their meeting shed light upon various matters of concern related to the diplomatic relationships between India and France.
He stressed that both countries are committed to enhancing the strategic partnership and working to strengthen the relations.
PM Narendra Modi tweeted,” Had a fruitful meeting with Emmanuel Bonne, Diplomatic Advisor to President Macron, covering a wide range of issues from Defence & security to culture. Glad that our Strategic Partnership is further deepening. Conveyed invitation to my friend Emmanuel Macron to visit India.”
They also talked about the ways to take forward their partnership which will ensure peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific based on common beliefs in the rules-based international order and strategic autonomy.
The meeting also contained discussions of the list of topics, such as the global security environment and expanding the scope of defence cooperation to include the co-development of futuristic technologies in line with India’s priorities of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Their discussion has also moved towards the situations in Afghanistan, Africa, South Easter Asia and Third country cooperation. PM Modi and France Diplomat discussed their moves towards the Indo-Pacific, nuclear energy, space and cyber domains.
They also showed their approval of the enhancements of the bilateral Defence and security cooperation, including in the South West Indian Ocean Region and the Indo-Pacific and pursuit of new initiatives in critical and emerging technologies.
Both countries asserted that there is a need for closer cooperation to address emerging uncertainties and other global issues. The countries should focus on UNSC and other multilateral forums.
