PM Mitchell congratulated 1,720 students who passed CPEA exam

The Prime Minister of Grenada has congratulated all the 1,270 students who successfully passed the CPEA - Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment examination, via his social media handle. 

Grenada: The Prime Minister of Grenada has congratulated all the 1,270 students who successfully passed the CPEA – Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment examination, via his social media handle. 

The Prime minister also shared the list of the students who passed the CPEA exam and stated, “You have done well, even with the more challenging circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. For those who did not earn a place in a secondary school at this time, I encourage you to try harder next time.”

The CPEA exam has been developed by the Caribbean Examinations Council – CXC in collaboration with the – Ministries of Education throughout the country.

CPEA exam is a pattern to determine the key skills required by students to exit the primary school system and to enter secondary schooling. 

It requires continuous assessment of students’ performance throughout Grades 5th and 6th. The students are therefore evaluated for formative, summative and diagnostic prospects. 

Following is the list of number of the students assigned in each secondary school – 

  • Anglican High School – 105 students 
  • Bishop’s College – 38 students 
  • Boca Secondary School – 105 students
  • Grenada Boys Secondary School – 140 students 
  • Grenada Christian Academy – 28 students 
  • Grenada Seventh Day Adventist Comprehensive – 51 students 
  • Grenville Secondary School – 101 students
  • Happy Hill Secondary School – 65 students 
  • Hillsborough Secondary – 49 students
  • J.W. Fletcher Catholic Secondary School – 60 students  
  • MC Donald College – 97 students 
  • Presentation Brothers’ College – 70 students 
  • St Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School – 139 students
  • St David’s Catholic Secondary School – 100 students 
  • St John’s Christian Secondary School – 32 students 
  • St Joseph’s Convent (Grenville)- 103 students 
  • St Joseph’s Convent (St George’s) – 105 students 
  • St Mark’s Secondary School – 89 students 
  • St Rose Modern Secondary School – 59 students 
  • The island Montessori School – 1 student
  • The St George’s Institue – 7 students 
  • Wesley College – 70 students 
  • Westerhall Secondary School – 96 students 
  • Westmoreland Secondary School – 10 students

A total of 1,906 students registered for the CPEA, out of which 1,170 successfully cleared the assessment which includes (892 males and 828 females).
