St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris has responded to the demands that have been put forward by Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Shawn K Richards and Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

PM Harris replied to the demands of Shwan Richards and Mark Brantley. They stated that to avoid the continued misuse and inequitable distribution of government resources, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Sustainable Development should be immediately re-assigned.
While replying to the Letter, PM Harris bluntly rejected the notion that there has been the misuse and inequitable distribution of shares of the government.
He also condemned the leaders of PAm and CCM and asserted that they have bluntly failed to provide proper evidence of their claims that raised questions on the distribution of government resources.
While justifying himself, PM Harris also exclaimed that it is a great process which certain kinds of procedures itself and also involved meetings of Permanent Secretaries, who are the Accounting Officers of each Ministry.
He also explained the procedure and said that the team managed by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and the Budget Analysts of the Ministry of Finance, along with the PSIP team, commenced a meeting. In the meeting, all people who are involved in the particular ministry put their points forward.
Further, he underlined that when the cabinet meets during the year, members of the cabinet question each ministry, and the process is getting completed.
PM Harris stressed that there is no possibility of misuse in the open government process that each of the citizens of the Federation has been a part of for the past seven years.
He pointed out that due to the excellent fiscal management, growth and socio-economic development, the Federation has been acclaimed internationally.
