PM Harris extends gratitude to Taiwan for financial donation in procurement of fire tender

The donation ceremony has been held through the cheque handing-over ceremony. It was held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the Office of the Prime Minister of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris on behalf of the government and citizens of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis extended gratitude to the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for the financial donation that will go towards the procurement of a new fire tender. 

The donation ceremony has been held through the cheque handing-over ceremony. It was held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the Office of the Prime Minister of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. 

Various delegations such as Cabinet Secretary Josephine Huggins, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Osmond Petty and Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Andrew Skerritt, have also joined the ceremony. 

Prime Minister Harris recorded a deep appreciation to the government of the Republic of China for the generous donation. 

While expressing pleasure in the donation, PM Harris noted, “My government has always worked for the development of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, and I have said that the government has made every effort to support peace and good governance in the country. I am very happy that the donation will assist the fire service department of the country, and of course, the fire truck in the country that is being offered will also play an essential role in the capability of the fire services department to respond timely and also have to make efforts in a way that could assist the effectiveness in the event. 

Further, the Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to St Kitts and Nevis, Michael Lin, also expressed pleasure and stated the government s pleased to again assist the Federation in order to strengthen the security infrastructure. 

He affirmed, “We are very pleased to announce that the country of Republic of China could be part of the partnership with St Kitts and Nevis, and we wish that in the future also we will aid St Kitts and Nevis to have a safer and stronger future for the generations to come.”
