In addition to that, PM harris also met with the wife of Late Ambassador and former Premier of Nevis Vance Amory, Vernita Amory and extended his condolences to her.

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr The Honourable Timothy Harris, along with his Cabinet colleagues and other Members of Parliament, were at the RLB International Airport has witnessed the Military Reception for the body of former Premier of Nevis, Ambassador Vance Winkworth Amory on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. 

Expressing pleasure after attending the reception, Prime Minister Harris noted, “It was a distinct honour to attend the Military Reception with Cabinet colleagues, to receive the body of the late and former Premier of Nevis, H.E the Hon Vance Amory.”

PM Harris further stated that he would lie in state for two days at Government Headquarters. 

In addition to that, PM Harris also met with the wife of Late Ambassador and former Premier of Nevis Vance Amory, Vernita Amory and extended his condolences to her.  

“Consoling dear Vernita Amory, wife of the late H.E. Vance Amory, JP, as we gathered today to receive his body for the military procession from the RLB International Airport to Government Headquarters where he will lay in state,” underlined PM Harris. 

The body of Amory has been carried out in the casket by the Federal Government and was draped in the National Flag of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. It was taken from the airplane and to the designated herase ahead of the solemn journey to the Jenkins Funeral Home in the capital of St Kitts and Nevis, Basseterre. 

In addition to that, Prime Minister Harris and other delegations further used the occasion to greet and pay condolences to the wife of Ambassador Vernita Amory. 

 The body of His Excellency Amory will have lied in the state on the second floor at Government Headquarters. At the spot, the National Assembly Chambers is located from Thursday 21st to Friday, April 22, 2022.

Members of the public will be able to view the body from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm on Thursday and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday.
