Antigua and Barbuda: Prime Minister Gaston Browne and David Harrison, founder of the Harrison Centre for Social Mobility, along with Daryll S. Matthew, Minister of Education, conducted a site visit at the soon-to-be redeveloped Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education (ABICE) on On Tuesday, 26th July 2022.

In May, Prime Minister Gaston Browne signed a memorandum of understanding that will see Antigua and Barbuda benefit from a multi-million dollar grant from David Harrison to establish the Harrison Centre Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education.

Harrison, a frequent visitor to Antigua and Barbuda for the past 30 years, is recognized as one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs and is Chairman of the UK financial technology firm, True Potential.

David Harrison expressed his delight in seeing the expansion of the Harrison Centre for Social Mobility into Antigua and Barbuda, a country he regards as his second home. He said: “I am delighted with this partnership between my foundation and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda that will lead to the first overseas Harrison Centre for Social Mobility.”

Joining Prime Minister Browne, Minister Mathew, and Harrison on the site visit were, Arlene West, Director of ABICE, Clare Browne, Director of Education, and technicians from the Board of Education.
