Antigua and Barbuda: Prime Minister Gaston Browne encourages all Antiguans and Barbudans to come out in their numbers to support our Men In Maroon in the West Indies Vs Bangladesh test match cricket to be held at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium from June 16th-20th.

On Monday, June 13th, before the start of the West Indies Vs Bangladesh test match cricket, Prime Minister Gaston Browne used the opportunity to offer some words of encouragement and support to the players for this highly anticipated test match.

The Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG) is witnessing the final phase of major development planning in the work of the transformation from the ICC-accredited facility into a true state-of-the-art cricket and cultural heritage centre. Known as the home to the West Indies cricket, the rehabilitation and infrastructural work will be completed later this year.

CCG would become a world-class centre of cricket with linkages to several other smaller cricket academies across the Caribbean island. The ground will sufficiently host various training camps and player remedial work with all kinds of stage international matches at all levels. It will also include an emerging players academy which will witness huge updated facilities such as ultra-modern indoor/outdoor facilities with medical, training, fitness, and gym facilities and several inputs for players’ preparation.

“A strategic measure to master planning of the facility is well going on, and we are stepping into a new frontier as we want to make CCG the ‘flagship’ where players from the grassroots to the international level can develop and hone their technical and mental skills. We envision the CCG of the future as a truly world-class facility with all the amenities,” said Nelecia Yeates, General Manager of CCG.

Further, Jenkins and the collective design team could submit their draft master plans to CCG and CWI in the next few months for the final design and cost approval.
