Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne participated in the official Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Multi-million dollar redeveloped Harrison Centre Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education (ABICE) on Monday, October 24th, 2022.

Antigua and Barbuda: Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne participated in the official Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Multi-million dollar redeveloped Harrison Centre Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education (ABICE) on Monday, October 24th, 2022.  

Harrison, a frequent visitor to Antigua and Barbuda for the past 30 years, is recognized as one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs and is Chairman of the UK financial technology firm True Potential.

Prime Minister Browne thanked David Harrison for his valuable and timely support for the development of education in Antigua and Barbuda.PM Browne repeated that the educational landscape in Antigua and Barbuda is going through a period of significant and strategic growth. The expansion and redevelopment of ABICE will bring technical and vocational training to a higher level. 

Also attending the historic soil turning ceremony were Daryll S. Matthew, Minister of Education and Sports, Dean Jonas, Minister of Social Transformation and Parliamentary Representative for the area, E. Jonah Greene, Deputy Director of Education, Arlene Weste, Director of ABICE (Ag.), Project Coordinator Chad Knight Alexander, and Trustee-Harrison Foundation, Daniel Harrison.

Earlier, On Tuesday, July 26th, Prime Minister Gaston Browne and David Harrison, founder of the Harrison Centre for Social Mobility, along with the Daryll S. Matthew Minister of Education, conducted a site visit at the soon-to-be redeveloped Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education (ABICE).

In May, Prime Minister Gaston Browne signed a memorandum of understanding that will see Antigua and Barbuda benefit from a multi-million dollar grant from David Harrison to establish the Harrison Centre Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Continuing Education.

Harrison, a frequent visitor to Antigua and Barbuda for the past 30 years, is recognized as one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs and is Chairman of the UK financial technology firm, True Potential.

Prime Minister Browne expressed appreciation to David Harrison for his significant and timely support of the educational development of Antigua and Barbuda. PM Browne reiterated that the education landscape in Antigua and Barbuda is experiencing a period of significant and strategic growth. The expansion and redevelopment of ABICE will take technical and vocational learning to the next level.Â
