SLP further noted that the global pandemic began, there have been successful elections held across CARICOM, including in Anguilla, Belize, Bermuda, Jamaica, Suriname, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago and the Turks & Caicos Islands. Elections will be held in the following weeks in the Cayman Islands as well.

SLP added that elections can be held safely during COVID-19 using PPE and social distancing.

The main opposition party of St Lucia stated that, in reality, the Prime Minister is afraid of the people because he knows his uncaring government has failed to provide people a social safety net during the pandemic.
