Patricia Scotland- the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, appreciated Birmingham and the Commonwealth Games Federation for their incredible work and the fantastic hosting of the Commonwealth Games 2022.
She also expressed pleasure in spending a few days at the Games and conducted interactions with the athletes from the different countries. CSG Scotland also cheered up the team Dominica and its athletes who participated in the games. She also extended best wishes to the players.
Besides this, CSG Patricia Scotland also participated in a range of meetings and interacted with different leaders of the country. She also hosted the 10th Commonwealth Sports Ministerial Meeting.

As the meeting marked the first Commonwealth gathering since the Commonwealth became a family of 56, after welcoming Togo and Gabon at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, the meeting has been considered poignant.

Held in the shadow of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK, the meeting saw leaders and world-renowned experts share Commonwealth examples of the crucial work being done in the sports sector to improve health outcomes, spark sustainable development, and bolster human rights.
Patricia Scotland further added, “I was thoroughly inspired and heartened to hear how sport programmes are being utilised to bolster human rights across the globe and welcomed the examples of innovation in the sporting sector, which brought home the incredible work being done to improve the lives of ordinary people at the grassroots level.”
Besides this, CSG Patricia Scotland stated that the Commonwealth, MDI Gurgaon, Business of Government, Washington DC, USA, joined hands to move forward with the setting up of the #Commonwealth Hub for the Business of Government. This Hub will promote Smart governance under the vision of Smart Commonwealth.
