Punjab province of Pakistan has been witnessing acute shortage of the fuel due to poor economy. The critical situation of the country has put locks on the major petrol pumps in major and small cities of the province, as per the reports.

Pakistan: Punjab province of Pakistan has been witnessing acute shortage of the fuel due to poor economy. The critical situation of the country has put locks on the major petrol pumps in major and small cities of the province, as per the reports.

Various reports outlined that the situation get worst in certain large towns such as Lahore, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad and numerous petrol pumps have shut down and barely running on the poor supply of the fuel products.

Khawaja Atif- Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association’s secretary of information shared the data of the shortening of the fuel products and stated that around 70 of the total 450 pumps are running out of petrol. The areas such as Shahdra, Wagahm Litton Road, and Jain Mandar have witnessed the closure of the petrol pumps due to zero supply of the fuel products, as per the reports.

Further reports mentioned that the supply of the petroleum products have been facing acute shortage in several cities of Pakistan and the majority of the gas stations are shut. However, there are some petrol pumps which are giving supply of the petrol but that only offer a little quantity of gasoline. The gas stations have been facing long qeues of the cars and bikes to get petrol.

Atif while outlining other data stated that in various other cities for instance Gujranwala has reported the closure of the around 75 percent of petrol pumps due to the lack of the proper supply from the OMCs. Along with that, the places such as Faisalabad, Okara, Sahiwal and other districts have also been running out of the petrol due to the short supply of the fuel.

According to the reports, the entire situation have alarmed the people of Pakistan as the oil companies of Pakistan are on the verge of collapse due to reeling economic crisis and devaluation of the currency. Various issues such as political instability, payments problem, food crisis, falling value of rupee and many more devastated the situation of the country.
