Pakistan: A Pakistani Hindu doctor Dr Birbal Genani has been killed near Layari in Karachi of Pakistan when he was returning home from his clinic on Thursday. According to the reports, he was shot dead by unknown assailants in Karachi.
The victim was identified as Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) senior director of health and eye specialist Dr Birbal Genani. According to the police, the incident was happened during the time when Dr Birbal Genani and his assistant lady doctor were travelling to Gulshan-e-Iqbal from Ramswamy. When they came to near Garden interchange on the Lyari Expressway, the unidentified men targeted their car. They shot on the car and Dr Genani was killed on the spot while his assistant lady doctor survived with the bullet injuries.
After getting new, police reached at the spot and taken the body of the deceased and the injured to the hospital. When the gun shot was happened, the car of Dr Genani get uncontrollable and smashed into a wall which was clearly seen in the CCTV footage. Referring to the incident a “target killing” SSP City Arif Aziz stated that they are not aware of the exact reason behind the murder and the lady doctor was present in vehicle when the attacker attacked the vehicle.
The women asserted that the firing was started suddenly and she couldn’t be able to understand anything. According to the reports, police found only one bullet mark on the vehicle and they are recording the statement of the lady doctor. Police sources added that the investigation on the incident has started and Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has been seeking report of the incident. He also condemned the incident and asked the public to maintain peace and harmony in the state.
Earlier, the incident of assault of Hindu shopkeepers were also remained in headlines in which he was blamed to violate the Ramzan Ordinance by eating.
