Police have successfully caught a 39-year-old salesman and driver who tried to stage a robbery against his employer Frenandez Guyana Enterprise Inc.

As per the police, accused Rudolph Forde of One Mile Turn, Soesdyke disclosed why he committed the act because he felt that he was being “overworked and underpaid.”

At around 17:45, the victim went to the Timheri Police Station and reported that he was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money- property of his employer- by two unidentified men on a white and gold Honda XR motorbike at Dookie Sand Road, Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara.

He claimed that one of the robbers was carrying a handgun. Police decided to question the suspect again the next day as they felt that something was left undisclosed in his first report.

Police said that robber took the police officials to his home, where he proceeded towards a car parked in his fleet. He opened the trunk and located a black plastic bag containing an undisclosed amount of money. He indicated it was the property of Frenandez Guyana Inc. Later, when cash was counted, and it was $129,730.

The suspect was then transferred to the Timheri Police Station and was taken into custody and taken to court on Thursday.
