US Virgin Islands has released new guidelines for cruise-ships passengers arriving on the shores of the country. In the latest release, the government has required all passengers over the age of twelve to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before boarding a cruise to the VI’s.

The government of the US Virgin Islands informed the Royal Caribbean of its new guidelines; however, the new restrictions are imposed on all cruise lines.

Royal Caribbean cruise line stated that they would provide the vaccine proofs of all passengers travelling onboard for the Virgin Islands, and guests who cannot prove their vaccination status will not be allowed.

A spokesperson of the cruise-liner stated that they support all the governments of their destination’s with their fight against the coronavirus pandemic. He said RC would continue respecting the local laws.

Royal Caribbean has a ten-year deal with the US Virgin Islands that was signed in December 2020. The deal guarantees a specific amount of customers and pay a fee to berth at the island of St. Croix.

The Allure of the Seas travelling on August 8th has a listed stop in St. Thomas, which will be obliged to adhere to this new policy.

Guests sailing on Allure of the Seas who the change may impact are asked to communicate with the cruise line for a full refund or move their booking to a later voyage or select a different itinerary.

In addition, St. Kitts recently declared a new policy that only permits 700 guests to visit their island per ship. The Allure of the Seas voyaging on August 8th will now visit Philipsburg, St. Maarten rather.

The island countries in the Caribbean are making new amendments to safeguard their citizens and residents from contracting the coronavirus. Even though some island nations have immunized half of their population, they are still making sure no new clusters arrive.
