Nicaragua is champions of League B after edging Saint Lucia 2-1 at the Stadion Rignaal Jean Francisca in Willemstad, Curacao, on Sunday, 13th August 2023.
St. Lucia’s lone goal was scored by Shevon Byron, who finished with six goals from as many matches. In the League B Third-Place Match, Martinique defeated Bermuda 7-6 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.
Jaiyel Jack of Saint Martin was judged the 2023 Concacaf Boys’ Under-15 Championship Top Scorer Award, presented by Qatar Airways, after finishing as the top scorer in the 2023 Boys’ U15 Championship with nine goals.
Playing the Semi Finals on Friday 11th August, St. Lucia advance to the finals with a comfortable 2 – 0 victory over Bermuda. Shevon Byron scored both goals.
St. Lucia advanced to the quarter finals on Thursday 10th August with a hard fought 1 – 0 victory over Barbados. The lone goal was scored by Shevon Bryon.
Following the preliminary round of matches St. Lucia emerged as Group leaders with 7 points. In their opening fixture on Sunday 6th August, they defeated Bermuda 2 – 0 with goals from Thierry Morille and Adriano Auguste.
Playing their second game on Monday 7th August, they defeated Cayman Islands 5 – 0, with a brace from Shevon Byron and the others from Keenan Joseph, Thierry Morille and Justice Germaine.
In their final game on Tuesday 8th August, they were held to a goalless draw by Aruba.
During the tournament, Team St Lucia played six matches in eight days, scored 11 goals while conceding only, two the latter in the finals. A remarkable achievement.
St Lucia is through to the semi finals of the Concacaf Boys Under 15 tournament, having defeated Barbados 1 – 0 in the quarter finals in Curaçao on Thursday 10th August.
The lone goal was scored by the prolific Shevon Byron who has now scored three goals in the tournament. St Lucia’s opponent is Bermuda who advanced by penalties over Belize.
