Antigua and Barbuda: The government of Antigua and Barbuda shared an update on Antigua Airways and stated that a new airline would soon be allowed to operate flights from West Africa directly to Antigua.
The Wealthy Africans who want to open a new route between the Eastern Caribbean and the African continent will finance the airline company. Further, the firm will collaborate with LIAT, flying passengers north and south of Antigua. The flight will come from West Africa on Antigua Airways.
The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda further invited the meeting with the Barbudan architect and planner who played an incredible role in designing a new “Codrington”. It will include various things such as hundred of homes, schools, supermarkets, and churches. He asserted that a technical and vocational centre and an early childhood education centre.
Around 1,000 acres of land will be required to build a new Codrington. The Cabinet also outlined that the airport will occupy a total of 240 acres of land. It will also include the runway, the terminal building, the Flight Based Operator (FBO) and an apron space for parking aeroplanes.
PLH is also paying attention that LIAT will be able to fly workers into Barbuda when the new airport is open. Workers who are flying to Barbuda in the mornings will be able to fly out in the afternoons. Hence, it will not be necessary for them to spend five continuous days in Barbuda without the benefits of their families or to rest in their own homes. PLH presently provides accommodation, transportation and meals for workers who travel to PLH Barbuda.
