The beautification of the bus stops of St Thomas Parish, Nevis will commence on Wednesday (September 13, 2023). The initiative will mark the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Independence of St Kitts and Nevis.

Nevis: The beautification of the bus stops of St Thomas Parish, Nevis will commence on Wednesday (September 13, 2023). The initiative will mark the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Independence of St Kitts and Nevis.

Three bus stops are added into the process of the beautification of the bus stops. Premier of Nevis- Mark Brantley and Latoya Biyanca Jones- special advisor invited the residents of St Thomas to support the initiative and make it successful.

Bus Stops included:

  • Cotton Ground Bus Stop
  • West Bury Bus Stop
  • Jessups Bus Stop

The bus stops will be provided new look as part of the Independence celebration. Nevis Island Administration reiterated its commitment and said that the clean up processes are important for the preservation of the natural resources.

The government informed that the pedestrian crossing at the bus stops and by Four Season Resort will also be done. The Nevis Island Administration has been celebrating the Independence 40 with exciting and fun activities and events.

Nevis will also host “National Heroes Day Freedom Concert” on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Nevis Cultural Village. The admission for the concert is free. The timing of the concert is 7: 00 pm. Besides this, the National Colours Day and primary school visits to increase the awareness about the struggle of the freedom fighters will be hosted in St Kitts and Nevis.

Earlier, 40 national flags have been deployed at the Robert L Bradshaw Airport of St Kitts and Nevis has marked the 40th anniversary of the Independence. It is the open display of the struggle phase of the country during their freedom.

Premier Mark Brantley will also present Independence 40 Bing0 on Monday, September 18, 2023. The bingo cards will be sold at $100. The event will be held at Oasis Bar.

Additionally, the events of the Independence also feature of the showcase the Movies of St Kitts and Nevis at Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park. The movies such as One Year Off, and Christmas in Paradise will be displayed in the park on September 23 and September 24, 2023 respectively.

Earlier, Premier Mark Brantley also initiated community clean-up. During the clean-up, the government cleaned the communities and deployed dumpsters for the proper management of the waste.

Along with that, the beach clean-up and beautification were also taken place as part of the Independence celebration.
