Nevis: Concerned Citizens Movement-led Nevis Island Administration significantly invested in efficient waste management and ran the cleaning drive on the island. The government has delivered the shipment of 2 brand new garbage trucks and other heavy equipment for the landfill.
Premier of Nevis and the leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement- Mark Brantley, took to social media and announced that the Nevis Solid Waste Management Authority had received the shipment of the garbage trucks and other equipment.
Premier Brantley stated that this is a significant investment from the Nevis Island Administration in ensuring that they better serve the needs of the general public.
He noted, “Today, the Nevis Solid Waste Management Authority received a shipment of 2 brand new garbage trucks and other heavy equipment for the landfill. This is a significant investment from the Nevis Island Government in ensuring that we better serve the needs of the Nevisian public.”
Outlining the significance of waste management, Premier said that cleaning is something which drives the notion of healthy life and a safe and pollution-free environment. Waste management is inversely related to disease-free health and a virus-free environment.
He said, “Effective waste management is a critical part of ensuring a healthy island.”
Brantley also extended gratitude to the Board of Directors of NSWMA, the General Manager Andrew Advisor Prentice and his team for their efforts to clean Nevis. He added, “I thank the Board of Directors of NSWMA, the General Manager Andrew Advisor Prentice and his team for their indefatigable efforts to keep Nevis clean and health.”
After winning general elections in Nevis, Premier Brantley and members of CCM indulged back to work and outlined several initiatives embarked on by the government.
Earlier, he held a meeting with the officers of the Fire Services on Nevis last morning. He was given the information on issues impacting the officers and the delivery of service to Nevis. He thanked their fire officers for their hard work and commitment to keeping us safe and committed to continuing to work with them and the Federal government in delivering exceptional service to Nevis.
