Nevis: Premier of Nevis- Mark Brantley visited St James Primary School, VOJN Primary and St Thomas Primary. He interacted with the students and lauded the warm reception of the staff, teachers and students.
It is the part of the school visit of the cabinet of the Nevis Island Administration. The visits marked the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Independence of St Kitts and Nevis. It featured the engaging interaction between the students and the administration of the island.
Premier Mark Brantley said that the interaction outlined several aspects of the education system of Nevis. The importance of the independence was the focal point of their engagement with the students.
Premier said he met patriotic students in these schools. He also lauded the children and said that the future of Nevis is in the hands of the bright students.
He further extended warm appreciation to the principals of the three schools, young women and staff for the warm reception.
Premier Brantley added, ”Such joy today to join my Cabinet colleagues and to visit St James Primary School, VOJN Primary and St Thomas Primary. The patriotic zeal among the children was palpable.”

The cabinet of Nevis included Latoya Biyanca Jones, Eric Evelyn, Alexix Jeffers, and Jahnel Nisbett accompanied Premier Mark Brantley during the school visit.
Latoya Biyanca Jones said that the teachers and children were very welcoming. She said, ”Yesterday’s tour with Cabinet colleagues to the St James Primary School Nevis West Indies, VOJN Primary School Nevis and St. Thomas Primary School in celebration of our country’s 40th Anniversary of Independence was truly amazing. The teachers and children were very welcoming and excited to celebrate our independence.”
Eric Evelyn said that Independence 40 is definitely in the air and we sure felt it today Thursday September 14 as members of the NIA Cabinet visited three schools on the island. We witnessed the national pride and enthusiasm from the staff and students of the St James Primary, VOJN Primary and St Thomas Primary.
“It was such a beautiful experience to visit and interact with the students of the St. James Primary School, Violet O. J. Nicholls Primary School and St Thomas Primary alongside my cabinet colleagues! The spirit of Country Above Self is in safe hands,”said Jahnel Nisbett.
Independence 40
St Kitts and Nevis has been celebrating 40th anniversary of the Independence. With several activities and events, the celebration has been staging at different places in the Federation. The school visits of the cabinet of St Kitts and Nevis aimed to enhance the patriotic feeling among the students of the schools.
