Nevis: Mark Brantley– Premier of Nevis and the leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement, presented nearly 900 backpacks and limited school supplies to primary schools in Constituency 9.
Mark Brantley is a member of the parliament for Constituency 9, where he supports the students who are going back to school. The supplies have been distributed under the Believe In Yourself initiative.
Through his social media, he added, “A small but significant ceremony this afternoon as I presented nearly 900 backpacks and limited school supplies to the primary schools in my constituency.”
Premier Mark Brantley also extended gratitude to the PS Education Mr Barrett and PEO Ms Claxton and their team, and the Head Teachers who also attended.
He added that The backpacks and supplies are part of his #BElieveinYOUrself initiative, which started a few years ago, and encourages our children to be themselves and to believe in themselves.
Backpacks and supplies can be picked up at the various schools during the day tomorrow by the students and their parents and guardians.
“I am truly grateful that God has made this donation possible. Praise be to God,” said the premier.
Earlier, he also extended gratitude to the volunteers who came out to help me prepare the back to school back pack and limited supplies for primary school students in my constituency.
He added, “I am delighted to resume the BElieveInYOUrself backpack programme after a hiatus due to Covid. Just my small way of awaiting parents at this time of year.”
Premier Mark Brantley shared the information regarding the initiative on his social media on August 13, 2022. He stated, “I always tried to give back to my constituency and delighted that after a hiatus due to Covid, I can reintroduce my BElieveInYOUrself backpack programme for ALL primary school children in Nevis 9.”
He asserted that this time the backpacks would have some basic school supplies too. He expects to distribute well before school reopens. Thanks be to God.
