Nevis: Premier of Nevis and the leader of the Concerned Citizens Movement- Mark Brantley awarded Cedric Armbrister Scholarship to Erim Herbert of Cotton Ground. The scholarship was provided by Nevis Electricity Company (NEVLEC) on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
With the help of the scholarship, Herbert will be studying engineering at the University of the West Indies.
Through his social media, Premier Brantley stated, “A truly significant ceremony this morning as the first-ever Cedric Armbrister Scholarship was awarded by the Nevis Electricity Company (NEVLEC) to Mr Erim Herbert of Cotton Ground, Nevis. Mr Herbert will be studying engineering at the University of the West Indies.”
He expressed his pleasure and stated that the Nevis Island Administration, led by the Concerned Citizens Movement, always put the well-being of their citizens as a top priority.
The Government has manifested all of their various agencies and statutory entities and added, “I feel proud today that the vision of this Government of putting people first is now being manifest in all of our various agencies and statutory entities.”
Premier Mark Brantley applauded Young Erim emerged as a perfect example for the youth of his age, as with his incredible potential, he gets the opportunity to be the perfect candidate for the scholarship.
He added that NEVLEC provided him with that opportunity and did so in the name of one of the pioneers in electricity generation in Nevis, Cedric Armbrister of blessed memory.
Premier Brantley stated, “Young Erim is a wonderful example of young Nevisians with huge potential who just need an opportunity. Today NEVLEC provided him with that opportunity and did so in the name of one of the pioneers in electricity generation in Nevis, Mr Cedric Armbrister of blessed memory. I thank his wife and children who attended this ceremony.”
He further wished every success to Herbert and extended best wishes in his studies, and looked forward to his return to help build out a sustainable electricity grid on their beloved Nevis.
