Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane to play for TKR in CPL 2021

Sandeep Lamichhane would be seen playing for the TKR team - Trinbago Knight Riders in the ninth edition of the CPL - Caribbean Premier League. 

Caribbean Region: Sandeep Lamichhane would be seen playing for the TKR team – Trinbago Knight Riders in the ninth edition of the CPL – Caribbean Premier League. 

Lamichhane is a right-arm leg-spin bowler from Nepal. He played for T20 cricket across the globe and earned his name. 

On joining TKR, the player expressed his excitement via social media and stated, “Absolutely thrilled to be the part of #KnightRiders family and look forward to playing for the champions team @TKRiders and this is going to be an awesome ride. Trinbago Knight Riders would be the player’s fourth team in the Caribbean Premier League.

The Nepalese leg-spinner bowler made his debut in CPL in the year 2018 when he first played for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots team. After that, he joined Barbados Tridents and last year, he played with the team of Jamaica Tallawahs.

2020 is recognised to be Sandeep’s most successful year of CPL. Lamichhane picked 12 wickets in eleven matches of CPL with an economy rate of -5.27. 

The player also played with the teams – Delhi Capitals, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Nangarhar Leopards, Melbourne Stars, Sylhet Sixers, Lahore Qalandars, Barbados Tridents, Jamaica Tallawahs and Hobart Hurricanes.

He was also the first Nepalese cricketer to play in IPL – Indian Premier League. He made his Twenty20 International – T20I debut versus the West Indies, where he represented – World XI side. 

Sandeep became the first cricketer to make a – T20 international debut representing a combined team. He was one of the 11 cricketers who played in Nepal’s first One Day International – ODI match, against the Netherlands, in August 2018.
