St George’s, Grenada: The enumeration of the Census has begun in Grenada at various places such as Carriacou and Petite Martinique on Friday, March 31, 2022. The government of the Caribbean country has encouraged the residents of the country to actively participated in the census which will aid the government to take measures for the growth of the country.
Further, the Central Statistical Office (CSO), Ministry of Finance, will send a delegation of 15-members of the government to Carriacou and Petite Martinique in order to conduct the enumeration for the Census properly on Friday, March 31, 2022.
The census will be conducted on the National Population and Housing and people will have to give basic information about themselves.
As per the press release of the office of Grenada, “The Central Statistical Office (CSO), Ministry of Finance, will send a 15-member delegation to Carriacou and Petite Martinique on Friday, to conduct enumeration for the National Population and Housing Census.”
Further, the delegations will comprise the IT personnel, coordinators, and enumerators to conduct the census. The government has suggested them they will complement the team of census workers on the sister islands.
As per the reports, the enumeration of the census of the National Population and Housing in Grenada will run from April 1 – to 26.
Further, the authorities of Grenada have appealed to the public and citizens to cooperate with them to conduct the relevant Census.
The Central Statistical Office appeals for the public’s cooperation with enumerators and reminds citizens that their interviews can be done via telephone or face-to-face. Interviews are approximately one hour long.
The national census is usually conducted every ten years to capture information that will allow the CSO to have a greater appreciation of the overall living conditions of citizens, while also providing an accurate count of the population and households.
