MSR Media to open film acting academy in Nevis: Mark Brantley

Minister of Foreign Affairs & Aviation St. Kitts and Nevis and Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley notified the opening of MSR Media acting academy in Nevis.

Brantley Tweeted, “As we continue to try to diversity the economy of #Nevis and look to non traditional revenue sources we are building the foundation for a #film industry here #KeepTheMomentum.”

According to Brantley, MSR Media is seeking 24 aspiring actors to attend twice-weekly evening classes, Monday & Wednesday, 6 to 9 pm, at the Nevis performing art center. 

MSR Media said, “These classes will be conducted under the guidance of MSR Media Chief/producer/director/Philippe Martinez, assisted by acting coach Winston Crooke. “

“Applicants must be over 18 years old, no prior acting experience is required & most important all classes are free. ” MSR Media added.

Additionally, ” Successful applicants will have the opportunity to be cast in speaking roles in the upcoming MSR Media Film Productions.”

Applicants must first submit a 15/20 sec introductory phone video (Name, Age, interests,etc.)by March 2nd.

“In person, the audition will be held by invitation only at Nevis Performing Arts Centre from11.00 am on SaturdayMarchh 6th. “Notification noted.

Premier Nevis is always trying to develop the beautiful Island & boost the economy. 

In recent time s, Nevis is one of the major spots for the shooting of Hollywood movies, which encourages the youths of Island to pursue acting carrier. 

UK production & sales firm MSR Media is also planning to shoot the comedy feature One Year Off on the relatively Covid-free Caribbean island of Nevis.

The film would follow a woman who rekindles an old flame on the island only to discover that ‘paradises’ have their own challenges.

One Year Off is the first film announced under a two-picture production deal that MSR Media has negotiated with the Nevis Island Administration (NIA). Under the deal, the Nevis government is offering access to multiple locations across the island and hotel support for visiting cast members.
