MSR Media Producer lauds Brantley over supporting immigrants living and working in Nevis

While expressing his feelings of being an immigrant, Martinez said that he feels disheartened to learn of disturbing comments posted on social media about the participation of Premier Brantley at the recently-held Phagwah celebration of the Hindu Community in Nevis.

St Kitts and Nevis: Philippe Martinez, a French national and also a producer of MSR Media, has publicly applauded Minister of Foreign Affairs and Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley for his unwavering support of non-nationals living and working in Nevis. 

While expressing his feelings of being an immigrant, Martinez said that he feels disheartened to learn of disturbing comments posted on social media about the participation of Premier Brantley at the recently-held Phagwah celebration of the Hindu Community in Nevis. 

He also emphasized that some of his Guyanese staff feel saddened over the comments made about their tradition and culture. 

He added, “Mark Brantley always attended the event every year even when he was at the position of Premier, but just because of this, people started to attack the immigrants and the Guyanese Community”.   

While applauding Mark Brantley, the producer of MSR Media emphasized that he has defended and honoured the immigrants, and for this, he saluted and extended respect to him. 

” I’ve been an immigrant for 34 years, and everyone is an immigrant at some stage of our life. Every immigrant is working here brings a great contribution to the island because all the immigrants have a lot of love in their hearts for the island. All of the immigrants are working to build an industry in Nevis, are working tirelessly,” he said at a recent media engagement.

Further, Brantley also extended gratitude to Martinez for expressing their points on the issue and also defended the Guyanese community and other foreigners who have resided in Nevis.  

He also applauded Martinez for his great ideology and also expressed the resemblance with his thoughts that right-thinking Nevisians appreciate the contribution of nationals from the Caribbean nations. 

“All of us have remained immigrants at some point of time, and I’m very pleased to know that Philippe that are working for the upliftment of Nevis for the last 34 years even after being immigrants. I really wish and hope that you settled here in Nevis and feel comfortable and closeness over the island”, underscored Mark Brantley.
