Europe: Member of European Parliament (MEP)- Elena Kountoura took to social media and expressed pleasure after the European Commission agreed to establish a European road transport organization. The decision has been announced by the new European Road Safety Coordinator, Kristian Schmidt, in response to Kountoura during her intervention in TRAN Committee.

During her intervention at TRAN, MEP asked the Coordinator what there should be given importance to road safety, and the establishment of road safety emerged out the need of an hour. The decision will give impetus to the European policy for road safety.
