Europe: Elena Kountoura- a Member of the European Parliament, shared an update on the 6th European Forum of the Left, Green and Progressive Forces, which will be hosted by the SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance. It will be taken place from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 October, under the theme “For peace, the n social and climate justice in Athens. 

The central political debate, in which the President of the SYRIZA Progressive Alliance, Alexis Tsipras, will take place today Friday 21/10 at 20.00 (hybrid) with the participation of party leaders and important political leaders tokens from Europe.

The Forum includes three major thematic discussions on the issues of solidarity, the climate crisis and Europe’s social and ecological orientation, war, peace and a new architectural collective insurance yeah, while throughout the weekend, many other workshops and individual meetings will take place matters of politics.

The works of the Forum will open today Friday 21/10 at 14.30 and will take place at the Serafio Center of the Municipality of Athens. 

At the central speech of the President of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance Alexis Tsipras at #European Forum, Elena Kountoura stated,”We need in Greece and Europe a strong visionary plan for peace social and climate justice that only progressive forces can implement.” 

At the EC Plenary Session, she asked the EU to immediately ratify the Istanbul Convention and adopt a holistic directive for dealing with domestic violence, for greater protection of women and children from sexual violence.

The Convention is the first internationally legally-binding text of its kind, under which ratification states are required to follow thorough, binding criteria for the prevention of domestic and domestic violence, the protection of victims and the punishment of the victim. 

“Precuracy brutally affects businesses, households and employees, and the energy crisis works to the benefit of the overseers, not the consumers.” Implement a European collective and solidarity plan to address the energy crisis based on at least five basic institutional interventions, “said the MEP.
