Europe: Member of European Parliament (MEP)- Elena Kountoura took to social media and asked for efficient actions to support Transport workers in Ukraine. She outlined the concept during her intervention at the TRAN committee of the European Parliament in discussion with the Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Mustafa Nayyem.
She stated, “Transport workers in Ukraine who continue to courageously and courageously carry out their work for the seamless transport of products into the EU and around the world are entitled to maximum protection and must be secured in their labour and social rights.”
Elena Kountoura always spoke about several issues regarding the matters of concern of gender equality, protection of workers and many more.
Earlier, she participated in the World Knowledge Forum 2022, where she outlined the restoration of global prosperity and freedom. MEP Elena Kountoura was particularly interested in the conversation with Seoul Mayor Oh Se-Hoon, where he talked about his vision for sustainable cities, and Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Princess Haifa Al Saud, on sustainability in the travel sectors, Tourism and Culture.
She also took a stand for Iranian women and asked for justice. She stated, “Standing by every woman in Iran and in every corner of the earth who claims social justice and defends her fundamental right to life, liberty, dignity.”
MEP Kountoura also spoke about the vulgar targeting of Katerina Notopoulou and called it unacceptable and reprehensible. She also demands zero tolerance against all forms of domestic violence and undermining systematically experienced by women in politics, in public life, and in the workplace.
She always put women’s rights high on the European agenda. With the SYRIZA Feminist Policy/Gender Department, MEP Elena Kountoura also discussed at Sputnik 2022 the critical issues facing women and updated her interventions in the European Parliament.
MEP Kountoura also extended support for the taxi industry’s fair demands against uberization.
