Europe: Elena Kountoura-Member of the European Parliament, participated as a guest speaker at the World Travel and Tourism Council 2022 (WTTC) Global Summit held in Riyadh with the agenda of reviving tourism globally.
She attended the Global Leaders’ Dialogue – WTTC Global Summit, with the presence of tourism leading personalities: Ban Ki-Moon, Ahmed Al Khateeb, Haifa Al Saud, Gloria Guevara, Ambassador Dho Young-sim and former Costa Rica President Laura Chinchilla.
MEP Elena Kountoura outlined that she is at the WTTC World Travel and Tourism Council Global Summit 2022 in Riyadh with:
– UN World Tourism Organization Secretary Zurab Pololikashvili and my fellow MEP Jose Ramon Bauza Diaz
– The Deputy Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, Princess Haifa Al Saud and the Ambassador of WTTC World Travel and Tourism Council, representative of STGC World Centre for Sustainable Tourism, Ambassador Dho Young- Shim

At the start of the work of the WTTC World Summit, MEP Kountoura met with the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, A Ahmed Al Khateeb, the former Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria, Nikolina Angelkova and the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Cyprus, Savva Perdio, with whom they had excellent cooperation during my tenure as Minister of Tourism of Greece.
She also held bilateral talks with the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, A.E. Ahmed Al-Khateeb and former Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria Nikolina Angelkova, in the framework of the WTTC Summit in Riyadh.
During the global summit, MEP Elena Kountoura met with former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon at the WTTC Global Summit 2022 in Riyadh.
At the WTTC World Tourism Summit, she also held a talk with CBS News reporter Peter Greenberg.
There were also bilateral talks between MEP Elena Kountoura and the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, Princess Haifa Al Saud and World Travel and Tourism Council #WTTC ambassador, representative of the STGC World Center for Sustainable Tourism, Ambassador Dho Young-Shim.
