Europe: Elena Kountoura- Member of the European Parliament, participated as a guest speaker in the event discussion with the local community of Acharna about the scourge of violence against women and children that is on the rise, on an excellent initiative of NE SYRIZA-PS of Eastern Attica and the 5 OM Acharnon.
During her visit, MEP met with Fotini Kouvela and Rena Dourou, who they informed about the necessary measures to deal with it at its root.
She stated that today’s government choices undermine equality and the right to a life without violence. The SYRIZA-PS program prioritizes strong people-centred social policies and reforms that will support women and children.

During her visit, she also had the pleasure to talk with student groups from 4 high schools of Attica and Thessaloniki, at an event at the Athens-Gennadio Gennadio Gennadium under the European Parliament Schools-Ambassadors program and to inform them about our work on equality Addressing domestic violence.

Earlier, she also participated in the open event – discussion focusing on elimination of violence against women is organized by NE SYRIZA-PS Eastern Attica and the five local SYRIZA -PS Acharnon Member Organizations, aiming to inform the local community about the plague of the nation race violence, which is on the rise, and for its complete proposal SYRIZA-PS to address it.
