St Lucia: Prime Minister of St Lucia, Philip Joseph Pierre, appointed Ms. Maundy A. L. Lewis as the Press Secretary to the Prime Minister on Friday, 30th July 2021.
Notably, earlier, Ms Lewis was in the role of Communications Officer for the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP), and now she would serve as the chief spokesperson to the Prime Minister.
Our sources revealed that other Cabinet Ministers would be sworn in at a live-streamed ceremony at Mindoo Philip Park next Thursday, 5th August 2021.
Additionally, Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre will also perform duties in the position of Finance, Economic Development and the Youth Economy of St Lucia.
Moreover, by this Prime Minister, Pierre has kept the established tradition by assuming responsibility for the country’s most important ministerial portfolios.
Notably, Pierre’s professional qualifications in economics and business management will be well utilised in the portfolios, and it will probably help develop St Lucia.
Several other appointments took place on Friday, including attorney-at-law Mr. Leslie Mondesir, who was sworn in as the Attorney General of Saint Lucia, drawing into effect the first two mandatory executive positions required by the Constitution of Saint Lucia.
Leslie Mondesir, who earns 21 years of experience as a practising attorney, will serve in the Cabinet of Ministers as the chief legal advisor.
Pierre lead SLP obtained 13 seats out of 17 in the general elections of St Lucia.

Prime Minister took oath on 28th of July 2021; after taking the oath, PM Pierre assured the people of St Lucia that he would not fail them and acknowledged people for giving him the opportunity to serve.
Also, the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J. Pierre, met with the Permanent Secretaries and other personnel within the various government ministries to ascertain the current state of the country’s affairs.
