Venezuela: The elected governor of the state of Zulia, Manuel Rosales, has recognized the legitimacy of Nicolás Maduro as President of Venezuela.
The event occurred on Tuesday when the national president received the new governor at the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas.
The meeting took place after last Sunday Maduro called for a new dialogue with the Venezuelan opposition, particularly those elected in governorships, mayoralties and other positions that were in dispute in the November 21 elections.
The president affirmed that he was willing to work together with the regional leaders.
Manuel Rosales was elected with more than 50% of the votes as governor of Zulia; together with José Galíndez, in Cojedes; and Morel Rodríguez, in Nueva Esparta, is one of the three regional leaders who managed to win from the Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD) and the Fuerza Vecinal party.
