Malta’s health sector flourishing under leadership of Deputy PM Chris Fearne

Malta - an island country located in the central Mediterranean Sea, is on the path of development and growth.

Valletta: Malta – an island country located in the central Mediterranean Sea, is on the path of development and growth. The political strategies and country’s foreign policy is assisting it in building new robust bilateral ties and bolstering the old ones.

A country which was earlier known for historic sites related to the succession of rulers, fortresses, and megalithic temples is now transforming into a strengthened nation, enticing international attraction. The health sector of Malta is also getting back on track under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister, Chris Fearne, which was jolted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Several significant decisions have been enforced by Deputy PM Fearne. Elected in 2017, the Deputy Prime Minister has been focusing on bolstering the health sector of the country, for which several steps have been enforced. Fearne eyes to provide exemplary healthcare facilities to the Maltese people.

On his part, Minister Fearne is continuously encouraging the general population of the country to obtain their vaccines, highlighting its significance in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the efforts of Fearne and his ministry, Malta now contains decreased number of COVID-19 infections. Also, the death rate of Malta is among the lowest countries in the entire European region, which is below 800 since the beginning of the pandemic. The Health Minister, as well as the government, gathered praise for their way of restraining and handling the COVID-19 virus.

Vaccine hesitancy has also been back to normality, and all the credit goes to Fearne for his exceptional supervision during the times of the pandemic.

The level of health services being accessible to Malta’s population through the government healthcare service has been refined.

Health in Malta has seen improvements in recent years, with one of the highest life expectancies in the Europe. Deputy Prime Minister Fearne is also prioritizing the practice of mental health, following which awareness is spread among the population in its regard via several traditional as well as modern modes of communication.

Just a few days back, Fearne made an announcement citing a fresh invitation will be issued to people aged 65 and over to receive their second booster shot (fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose).

Where many countries failed to accomplish the 40% vaccination target set by the World Health Organisation, Malta possesses the ‘highest immunization rate’ in the entire European region, with 89.4% of its total targeted population being fully vaccinated against the contagious SARS-Cov 2.

Not only this, the country has a low infant mortality rate, with 5.6 deaths per 1000 live births, as per the official statistics present. The international health agency of WHO outlined that Malta’s environmental contribution to health in the country is also minimal, with the mortality rate as a result of ambient air pollution being 20 per 100,000, placing Malta in the ‘Very High Human Development’ category.

It is indeed said that ‘A Boss loves power and a leader loves people, works for their welfare’ – quote is very well portrayed by the Deputy Prime Minister Fearne, who has gained the love and trust of Maltese people through his work and efforts to make the country a sounder place to live in and advancing the standard of living.
