The authorities stated that from July 25, 2022, people travelling to Malta without a vaccine certificate or a recovery certificate would no longer present a negative PCR/Rapid Test before arriving in the country.

Malta: The Ministry of Health of Malta declared that the country would drop its COVID-19 entry restrictions on July 25, 2022. Reportedly, all the visitors will be allowed to enter the country without any restrictions, such as proof of vaccination, recovery or tests certificate upon arrival.  

The authorities stated that from July 25, 2022, people travelling to Malta without a vaccine certificate or a recovery certificate would no longer present a negative PCR/Rapid Test before arriving in the country

However, until the decision is implemented, the travellers must have to present valid COVID-19 proof. The government of Malta stated that till then, all travellers, regardless of their country of origin, currently must present a vaccination, recovery, or test certificate. 

But the government of Malta planned to drop the COVID-19 restrictions during the rise in COVID-19 infections throughout the European continent. 

COVID-19 in Malta: 

As per the reports of the World Health Organization, Malta has recorded 3,3769 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in the last seven days. 

As per the statistics on the vaccination rates, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) stated that Malta had administered 1,248,452 vaccine doses as of June 30. 

ECDC further explained that around 93.9 percent of the entire adult population in Malta had completed primary vaccination, while another 80.5 percent of the population had received the first booster shot. The Health Sector has witnessed a significant boost under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the vaccination drive has been efficiently run by Health Minister to save the lives of the people of Malta. 

Minister Chris Fearne has encouraged the people and the general public of Malta to receive their vaccine and outlined the importance of the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Malta has continuously witnessed an efficient decrease in COVID-19 infections, and the death rate of Malta is among the lowest countries in the entire European region, which has been below 800 since the beginning of the pandemic under the leadership of Chris Fearne.
