Malta: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health of Malta Chris Fearne inaugurates the ‘Dar Sebħ Ġdid inpatient rehabilitation centre to strengthen the health sector of the country.
The rehabilitation centre is part of the several efforts taken by the Minister of Health, Chris Fearne, as his policies and decision has taken the Health Sector getting back on track under his leadership, which was jolted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Firstly, Minister Fearne has taken incredible steps to encourage the population of the country to obtain their vaccines and conducted a great vaccination drive in the country. This is due to his efforts; the cases of COVID-19 has been declined to the lowest possible level. Moreover, the death rate of the country is among the lowest in the entire European region, which stood at 800 since the emergence of the pandemic.
Malta also gained a lot of appreciation for their response to the COVID-19 virus as Vaccine hesitancy has also been back to normality with the efficient work of Minister Fearne.
Moreover, Fearne also announced a fresh invitation would also be issued for the people aged 65 and over to receive their second booster shot.
Malta possesses the highest immunization rate irrespective of many other big and developed countries across the globe that don’t yet accomplish 40 percent. Malta accomplished 89.4 percent of its total targeted population being fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Not only this, Minister Fearne has also been included in many other diplomatic affairs of the country as recently he also attended the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2022, where he indulged in many interactive engagements and meetings.
Minister Fearne also met with Prime Minister of Canada- Justin Trueadue and discussed significant bilateral ties and multilateral exchanges.
Malta has also recired a very low infant mortality rate, with 5.6 deaths per 1000 live births, as per the official statistics.
