World: According to the reports, four more countries are likely to be added to the UK’s red-list as concerns have risen amid the new Indian variant.
It is expected that the UK government is going to announce the final list of nations that are added to the green and red lists on or prior to 7 June.
Those who are travelling from a red list nation have to quarantine themselves for a period of ten days at a hotel upon their return at the cost of £1,750, while those who are returning from amber list countries would have to quarantine themselves at their home for ten days.
The countries that are likely to be added to the red list are – Bahrain, Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago and Kuwait. Anyone who is not a resident of the UK or an Irish resident, or a British citizen would not be permitted to enter Britain if they have been in the country who’s on the red-list.
This rating of the nations has been decided on the balance of its population that has been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus, infection rates, the predominance of variants of concern and its ability to sequence their genomes.
