The 2023 MINISTRY OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND SPORTS CPL/ ST. LUCIA KINGS SCHOOLS UNDER 19 T-20 X-PLOSION continued on Wednesday, July 5, with two more matches at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

In the first game of the day, District 4 CHARGERS went down to District 1 STRIKERS by 17 runs. District 1 STRIKERS batting first made 100 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs with Jewell Simon making 21, Jaden Khodra 17 not out, Zhanni Joseph 16, Verquan Estaphane 14 and Amari Venner 10.

Bowling for District 4 CHARGERS, Cansius Simon 3 for 18 in 4 overs, Khan Elcock 2 for 7 in 3 overs and 1 wicket each to Bjorn Fanis and Jerlani Joseph.

In reply, District 4 CHARGERS closed their inning on 83 for 9 in 12.4 overs, with Tori Hippolyte making 22, J’ Dell Louis 19, Bjorn Fanis 12 and Khan Elcock 10. The wicket takers for District 1 STRIKERS were Zhanni Joseph with 4 for 12 in 4 overs, Jaden Khodra 3 for 3 in 1.4 overs and 1 wicket each for Kethan Charlemagne and Christian Peter.

RESULT: DISTRICT 1 STRIKERS DEFEATED DISTRICT 4 CHARGERS BY 17 RUNS.

In the second game of the day, District 8 CHALLENGERS continued their unbeaten run in the tournament thus far with a comfortable 5-wicket victory over District 5 ENFORCERS.

District 5 ENFORCERS batting first was dismissed for 61 in 12.4 overs, with Stephen Abraham and Harvie Paul making 17 each. Doing the damage with the ball for District 8 CHALLENGERS were leg spinner Cody Fontinelle with 4 for 4 in 3 overs, Left arm Chinaman Aiden Scholar 2 for 0 in 4 balls and 1 wicket each to Jude Joseph, Jaheem Simeon and Garet Alphonse.

In reply, District 8 CHALLENGERS comfortably got to their target finishing on 62 for 5 in 8.4 overs, with Aiden Scholar making 17. The wicket takers for District 5 ENFORCERS were Theo Edward with 3 for 18 in 4 overs and Josan James 2 for 28 in 2 overs.

RESULT: DISTRICT 8 CHALLENGERS DEFEATED DISTRICT 5 ENFORCERS BY 5 WICKETS. TWO MORE MATCHES ARE SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, JULY 6, AT THE TOURNAMENT’S VENUE, THE GROS ISLET PLAYING FIELD.
