Primary School Cricket Playoff finals of Grenada will be held on Friday, 2nd June 2023, at the Beausejour Playing Field. The match will be started at 9: 30 am. Seven schools will participate in the finals.

Grenada: Primary School Cricket Playoff finals of Grenada will be held on Friday, 2nd June 2023, at the Beausejour Playing Field. The match will be started at 9: 30 am. Seven schools will participate in the finals. 

The government of Grenada shared the update and stated that the games will be presented by the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture. The government added,” Seven primary schools will each represent their parish at the final of the Primary School Cricket Competition at the Beausejour Playing Field on 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑, 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟗:𝟑𝟎 𝐚.𝐦.”

The eight overs, one-day parish tournament, which commenced last week, are part of the government’s efforts to revitalise sports in schools and at the grassroots level following a three year break.

The qualifying round concluded on Wednesday at the River Sallee Playing Field, where primary schools in St. Patrick fought for a spot to represent their parish.

Those representing their parish in the Primary School Cricket Playoff are:

Wednesday saw the wrap up of the qualifying round of cricket at the Rivers Sallee Playing Field as primary schools in St Patrick fought for the spot to represent their parish in the Finals of the Primary School Cricket Playoff.

The one-day eight-overs tournament for primary schools in each parish got off to a start on Wednesday, 24th May 2023, two days later than the scheduled start due to inclement weather conditions, in its return after a three year break.

On Wednesday, matches were played in St John at Cuthbert Peters Park and St David at the La Sagesse Playing Field. On Thursday, matches will be played in St. Andrew at Progress Park. St George’s schools will play their match on Tuesday 30th and St Patrick’s Schools play on Wednesday 31st, at River Sallee Playing Field. Matches start at 9:00 am.

The final is scheduled for Friday, 2nd June at the La Sagesse Playing Field in St David. Carriacou and Petite Martinique will also be playing at the finals.
