Know full details: Caribbean leaders share glimpse of Ninth Summit of the Americas

In the ninth Summit of the Americas held in Los Angeles, California, the CARICOM Heads of government participated and outlined various matters of concern. The Summit was held from June 7, 2022, to June 9, 2022.

Caribbean: In the ninth Summit of the Americas held in Los Angeles, California, the CARICOM Heads of government participated and outlined various matters of concern. The Summit was held from June 7, 2022, to June 9, 2022. 

Caribbean leaders such as the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda- Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Barbados- Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Dominica- Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, President of Guyana Dr Irfaan Ali, Prime Minister of Haiti- Ariel Henry, Prime Minister of Jamaica- Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of St Lucia Philip J Pierre, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Dr Keith Rowley have joined the Summit and addressed the world leaders. 

CARICOM Heads also interacted with the President of the United States, Joe Biden and his wife, First lady Jill Biden at the inaugural ceremony of the Summit. 

Further, Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris also engaged with the CARICOM Heads of the government during the Summit. 

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau also interacted with the CARICOM heads and held developmental talks with the leaders such s Dr Irfaan Ali, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and Prime Minister Andrew Holness. 

In their address, these heads of the Caribbean government outlined issues related to the small island countries, which include climate change and developmental strategies. 

The Summit was being held under the theme, “Building a Sustainable, Resilient, and Equitable Future.”
