Kamla Persad passes greetings to Queen Elizabeth II on Platinum Jubilee
The Trinidad and Tobago Leader of opposition Kamla-Persad Bissesar sends best wishes to Queen Elizabeth II on her Platinum Jubilee that is going to take place this year.
While passing the greetings to Queen Elizabeth II on occasion, Leader of opposition Bissesar said,” I would like to sincerely congratulate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the 70th anniversary of her accession as Queen of the United Kingdom, becoming the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee.”
“Her tenure as the longest-serving Monarch of the United Kingdom has been one of the dedication to our Commonwealth and enriching acts of goodwill in our society”, Bissesar said.
The Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II is being celebrated in 2022 in the Commonwealth to mark the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on February 6 1952. The celebration plans were formally unveiled in full by Buckingham Palace on January 10 2022.
Leader of opposition Bissesar further added that, “There is much inspiration to be found in Her Majesty’s service towards the Global Community over the last 70 years as assuming the role of Monarch at the young age of 25 she was not deterred by youth but driven by duty. When I served as the First Female Commonwealth Chair in Office, I had the privilege of meeting Her Majesty in 2011 and experiencing such enlightening conversation and discussion.”
For the first time in the history, Jubilee Beacons will be lit in every capital city of each Commonwealth nation to mark the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s reign.
Meanwhile, Bissesar, while thanking Queen for her contributions, said, “One of the greatest services Her Majesty has offered our Commonwealth and Global Community has not only been her dedication to several charities which she serves as a patron but her claiming words of comfort during the times of Global crisis in the last seventy (70) years.”
While further passing greetings to Queen Elizabeth, Leader Bissesar said, “We pray for God’s continued blessings on Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”
