Kamina Smith shares glimpse of her bilateral engagements during 26th CHOGM 2022

Rwanda: Kamina Johnson Smith- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, has bilateral engagements with different leaders amid the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2022. In the meetings, she shared her candidature for the position of Secretary-General of the Commonwealth. 

Kamina Johnson Smith firstly met AK Abdul Momen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, to discuss my vision for a reinvigorated Commonwealth and her candidacy for Secretary-General of the Commonwealth. 

Further, She expressed pleasure to have a meeting with Christopher Fearne, Deputy Prime Minister of Malta, at the #Commonwealth Business Forum in #Kigali to discuss her candidacy and vision for the Commonwealth. 

Kamina Smith also had the honour of meeting with Sen. Manqoba Khumalo, Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade of the Kingdom of Eswatini. They have discussed matters including our strong cooperation in multilateral fora, particularly in the #OACPS, the great progress made last week in the #WTO at #MC12 and her candidacy for Commonwealth Secretary General.

In addition to that, amid the 26th CHOGM, Kamina Johnson Smith had a wonderful discussion with my fellow Foreign Minister Raychelle Omamo of Kenya about strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation between our two nations and the wider #Commonwealth as well as her candidacy for Commonwealth SG. 

She further expressed pleasure in meeting with Foreign Minister Matŝepo-Molise Ramakoae ahead of #CHOGM2022 to affirm Jamaica’s strong relations with The Kingdom Of Lesotho and with Africa and to discuss my candidacy for #Commonwealth SG.

Kamina Johnson Smith also expressed plesaure to meet with Geoffrey Onyeama, Foreign Minister of #Nigeria, ahead of the meeting of Heads at #CHOGM2022. They both have recalled our strong bilateral relations and work together across multilateral fora, including the #Commonwealth as well as her candidature for the position of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth. They were delighted to have MHPM Holness stop by during their robust discussion.
