Jamaica: Senator and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Jamaica’s Candidate for Commonwealth Secretary General 2022 outlined her meeting with Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley in the recent held CARICOM Agri-Investment Forum and Expo in Guyana.
Through her social media, she expressed pleasure in meeting Prime Minister Mia Mottley, where she poured her heart out on various matters of concern.
Kamina Johnson Smith noted, “It was good to meet with PM Mia Amor Mottley in the margins of the recent CARICOM Agri-Investment Forum.”
She further stated that she shared her candidature and re-energizing vision for the position of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth and the road to CHOGM 2022 that will be held in Rwanda in June.
Kamina Johnson Smith emphasized, “I was pleased to personally share a copy of my Candidature statement, to discuss my bid for #CSG and the road to #CHOGM2022.”
She exclaimed that their discussions featured various matters in which they both showed concern and stress, making them possible in a place.
Kamina underscored that the main highlights of their meeting depended on the discussion of how effectively CARICOM and the Commonwealth can address challenges such as food insecurity and climate vulnerability which severely effects SIDS and other developing countries.
She underscored that the position of the commonwealth needs a significant change with the vision of clarity and new agendas with possible multilateral exchanges.
