Jamaica: Kamina Johnson Smith- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, expressed her pleasure in welcoming United States Ambassador N Nick Perry to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Jamaica. 

She stated that they have engaged with the Ambassador and their discussion on the various matters of concern turned out with a huge success. 

Kamina also expressed that their engagement will further continue at Argentina’s Nationa Day later in the evening. 

Kamina Johnson Smith noted, “It was a pleasure this week to formally welcome and engage with Ambassador N. Nick Perry at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade, Jamaica and to continue engagement at Argentina’s National Day later in the evening.” 

Various matters such as bilateral and multilateral exchanges between the two countries, and Kamina stressed the further strengthening of these exchanges. 

She added, “I enjoyed our discussions on a range of bilateral & multilateral issues on which we continue to partner.” 

Kamina Johnson Smith is an elected candidate for the position of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth and promotes herself with her vision of re-energizing the Commonwealth.  

She also visited numerous African countries where she held meetings with political leaders of Ghana, Nigeria, the Republic of Botswana, Tanzania etc. 

In addition to that, Kamina Smith also received a huge endorsement for her candidature for the CSG from various countries.

Countries such as India, the United Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago backed Kamina Jonshon Smith on being chosen for the top position. The countries have shown their full support and public endorsement to the Foreign Minister of Jamaica.  

Earlier, on Friday, May 26, 2022, she also extended warm blessings and wishes to the people of Guyana on their Independence Day. Recently, she also joined the Agri-Investment Forum in Guyana, which was hosted by President Irfaan Ali, where she promoted herself and her candidature for the position of CSG.   

She also conducted meetings with Guyana President Irfaan Ali and outlined her vision for the position, and demanded the change.
