Kamina Johnson Smith- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Jamaica's candidate for Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, expressed pleasure on the momentous occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

Jamaica: Kamina Johnson Smith- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Jamaica’s candidate for Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, expressed pleasure on the momentous occasion of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
Kamina Johnson Smith also stated that the several countries in the Commonwealth would celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne.
Queen Elizabeth II is the first British monarch to reach this milestone, making this a historic day. She stated that the celebration would create a great celebration across the globe.
“Today, several countries in the commonwealth will celebrate the Queen’s #Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne,” Kamina Smith asserted.
She also outlined the vision for the Commonwealth and expressed her happiness for the celebration.
“This celebration is a particularly momentous occasion as Queen Elizabeth II is the first British monarch to reach this milestone, making this a historic day. I wish those celebrating to have a joyous and memorable weekend,” Kamina added.
Kamina Johnson Smith is an elected candidate for the position of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth and promoting herself as a deserving candidate for the top position.
She visited various countries in recent times and also attended CARICOM Agro-Investment Forum and Expo in Guyana and interacted with different leaders of CARICOM.
Kamina Johnson Smith’s candidature was backed by various countries such as UK leadership, Trinidad and Tobago, Belize, and India.
Moreover, she also conducted numerous visits across the globe to promote herself for the position of the Secretary General of the Commonwealth and stated that the position needs a significant level of change and a re-energizing vision to uplift and create creative agendas.
Various countries such as Montserrat, St Lucia and St Kitts and Nevis have also shared their schedule of activities to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
