Jamaica: Kamina Johnson Smith- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, extended wishes on the occasion of Africa Day 2022 to all the citizens across the African countries.
While pouring wishes on Africa Day, Kamina Johnson Smith noted, “Happy #Africa Day 2022 to all ‘s brothers and sisters across the continent and, in particular, our 19 brother and sister countries in the #Commonwealth.”
Kamina Smith also stated that she saluted their heritage, supported the goal of food security and emphasized achieving the aim.
She said, “We not only salute our heritage, but we support the goal of #food security which we must all work together to achieve.”
Further, the commonwealth also wished Africans on their auspicious occasion and stated that the theme for Africa Day is food security for sustainable development.
It asserted, “Happy #Africa Day to the 19 African #Commonwealth countries! This year’s theme is around food security for sustainable development. We look forward to seeing you all at #CHOGM2022 in Kigali, Rwanda, next month – this is the 6th time CHOGM has taken place in Africa.”
Recently, Kamina Johnson Smith conducted her official tour to various African countries, where she promoted herself and her candidature for the position of the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.
She visited various countries in Africa, such as Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria and Botswana.
She was also on a visit to the countries to promote herself as a candidate if Commonwealth Secretary-General (SG).
Minister Jonshon Smith formally launched Jamaica’s candidature for Secretary-General of the Commonwealth in London on Thursday, April 21 2022.
Meanwhile, Minister Smith also stopped her visit and met Munir Akram, who is a permanent representative of Pakistan and reflected on her global perspectives.
She wrote, “In NY, it was a pleasure to meet with H.E. Munir Akram, pakistanprtoun whose significant experience in NY and Geneva is reflected in his global perspectives. I enjoyed our exchange of views, including on my candidature for the role of #Commonwealth #SG #KJS for CSG.”
