Jamaica: For the new year, Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness reiterate the guidelines related to the COVID-19.
In the message through the social media PM, Holness said, “The Government is reiterating that the curfew orders over the holiday season, in particular on December 31, 2020, and January 1, 2021, will be strictly enforced.
He added, “On December 31, 2020, the curfew will begin at 10 pm, and end at 5 am on New Year’s Day (January 1, 2021).”
Prime Minister also notified, “However, during the curfew, pastors or technical leaders who deal with streaming, as well as musicians, may apply to the @mnsgovjm for an exception letter to be on the road after curfew hours to facilitate the live streaming of watch night services.”
He also pointed out, “On New Year’s Day, the curfew will begin at 7 pm, and end at 5 am on January 2, 2020.”
On this, Jamaicans people reacted warmly, Anthony Legore resident of Kingston, Jamaica said, “Lord, make us have a willingness to cooperate with the Government’s protocols for health and wellbeing in the presence of the Covid 19 health threat to our Nation. May we take on all the right attitude, do all the right things to have it under control, and further banish the virus and its strains from our shores Amen.”
Another Jamaican Wayne Brooks said, “Mr Andrew Holness school cant reopens as yet. What about children with high risk. What are we to do send them out to expose to COVID, come makes wise decisions. Give parents choices. How can l protect my child if l send her school in this pandemic. I have been with daughter in and out of hospitals, to try to make her stay alive, and now l should be her even more vulnerable.”
PM wished all Jamaicans to the happy new year, and he wished that country would touch the new sky in this year.
