Jamaica: Prime Minister Andrew Holness met with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Jamaica Tian Qi through the courtesy call on Tuesday, March 23, 2022. Both diplomatic leaders met each other at the office of the prime minister of Jamaica. 

While informing about the courtesy visit of the Ambassador to Jamaica, Prime Minister Holness, through his Facebook Post noted,” On Tuesday, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Jamaica, His Excellency Tian Qi, paid a farewell courtesy call to me at the Office of the Prime Minister”. 

The two leaders have touched on various matters of concern related to both countries. They have also held discussions on various aspects of the investment in each other’s countries

Various topics such as trade, investment, infrastructure have become the art of the discussion between the two leaders of the diplomatic. 

Prime Minister of Jamaica also outlined the significance of the bilateral ties between the two countries. 

Outlining the major topics of the discussion, PM Holness stated, “We spoke on the many areas of support and bilateral relationships established over the years between Jamaica and the People’s Republic of China”. 

He explained that Jamaica and The Republic of China shared great bilateral relations with each other over the years. Both the countries have been coming along with the health relations for many years. 

Prime Minister Andrew Holness also highlighted the topics on which they both have shared their view. He stated that they have matters of concern such as trade, investment, infrastructure development and energy.

Prime Minister Holness also expressed that during the meeting, he also extended this appreciation for the dedication the Republic of China has shown toward the development of Jamaica. 

He also appreciated Ambassador Tian Qi for his dedicated efforts and hard work and also wished him with the blessing for this future.

“During the courtesy call, I conveyed, on behalf of the government and people of Jamaica, my appreciation for his dedicated efforts and wished him all the very best in his future endeavours”, underscored prime minister. 

PM Holness further assured that the government and people of Jamaica would continue to foster meaningful partnerships with the People’s Republic of China through his successor.
