Jamaica govt to open five merit-based tertiary scholarships for ages of 17 and 25
Jamaica: Prime Minister of Jamaica- Andrew Holness took to social media and outlined the criteria for five Jamaica Labour Part merit-based tertiary scholarships.
He stated that the scholarships would be open soon to Jamaicans who have been accepted into university. The citizens who will be aged between 17 and 25 will be eligible for the scholarships.
Five outstanding Jamaica Labour Party merit-based tertiary scholarships will be open soon to Jamaicans who have been accepted into university and are between the ages of 17 and 25.
The five Jamaica Labour Party National Scholarships this year is named in honour of past distinguished members of the Jamaica Labour Party.
They are as follows:
The Hon. Hector Wynter Scholarship Spanish (Teachers’ Colleges only).
The Hon. Derrick Smith Scholarship for Criminology.
Christopher Bovell Scholarship for Artificial Intelligence or Digital Transformation or Data Science.
These scholarships will be provided to the students who have a strong record of academic achievement, a commitment to community and country, and who demonstrate a concern for others. The people who consist strong leadership potential and exemplary character will be awarded scholarships.
